WHAT TO EXPECT?
You're going to have fun and make new friendships while getting some one-on-one advice from experienced coaches and athletes! Guest Athletes and Coaches will stop by in person or zoom in to tell you their stories and answer your questions! You'll also learn about training, keeping a running journal, injury prevention, mental toughness, race strategy, perceived effort, dynamic drills, and other tips that will give you that edge going into your cross country season. You'll leave with new running skills and if you use them and make them part of your training and racing it will benefit you throughout your running life.
WHAT'S DIFFERENT?
Instead of being thrown into a camp full of high school athletes we're providing an experience just for the middle school runner. That means some one on one time for you to ask questions with the coaches, take notes, and go home with a plan for yourself. There's plenty of time for high mileage and tougher workouts. What we have planned for you is a mix of running, learning, new friends, memories, and fun.
Don’t worry about food. Past campers say it’s the best of any camp they’ve been to. Three meals a day and our smoothie bar and snacks at night.
Who Is This Camp for
If you’re passionate about running and want to be around other athletes that have the same interests and drive as you do then this camp is for you! It’s an experience that will get you mentally and physically prepared for the xc season. Expect to meet some faster kids at camp but don’t worry, running groups are set by your ability without pressure on how far you want to run.
If you just need to fill a week for your child and they aren’t really interested in running this may not be the camp for you. And, although we do bring the Superman Cape out for an occasional miracle we’re mainly a running camp.
